Pizhichil combines two super effective Ayurvedic treatments called Snehana & Swedana. Snehana which means specialized oil massage and Swedana which aims at inducing sweat via fomentation and sudation. This procedure involves pouring of natural organic herbal oils or medicated ghee over the body for a specific time period, inducing sweat under the guidance of our well trained Ayurvedic physician. The procedure also involves simultaneous massage at varied pressures to enhance the benefits of the treatment. This therapy is known as the "King's Treatment" due to its popularity with the Maharajas of ancient India.
In conditions where use of oil on the body is not permitted, the milk and herb recipe is an ideal alternative. In Navarakizhi, a potli is made with a special type of aged and medicated rice, herbs & milk. This medicated potli or bolus is used for sweat formation. Also known as Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda, this treatment involves rigorous rubbing of the potlis on the body during massage to generate heat which provides relief to the stiff and swollen muscles. A popular therapy used for the purpose of rejuvenation of the body, Navarakizhi endows several benefits by promoting digestion and restoring vigor. This therapy pacifies all the three doshas thus improving blood circulation, soothing tired nerves and rendering complete relaxation. The treatment makes the skin look instantly lustrous and fresh. Depending on the nature of medicines used in the bolus, Kizhi has various different names. Choornapindasweda (Podi Kizhi) is done for the diseases related to bones, muscles and nerves using a bolus made of powdered medicinal plants. Jambeera Pinda Sweda (Naranga Kizhi) is done using jambeera or lemon along with other medicines which are selected according to the need of the patient.
Diagnosis done by eight fold examination and ten fold examination method, unique to Ayurveda. Mamsa meaning goat’s meat is cleaned by taking out all the waste and debris and processed with medicated rice grown in 60 days and with different types of medicinal herbs as per the condition of the patient - depending on the strength of the patient and severity of the disease. The patient is given a light massage followed with Mamsa Navara Kizhi, where the bolus which is prepared with the Mamsa, Navara and other medicated herbs is dipped in the medicated milk and applied on the affected part.

Derived from Sanskrit words Shiro (head) and Dhara (flow) – Depending on the drug components, ‘Shirodhara’ is known by different names like Takradhara, Kshira Dhara, Taila dhara, Kwatha Dhara, Jala Dhara.
This therapy involves systematic pouring of liters of luke-warm oil over the forehead with a precise technique. Forehead, bearing large number of nerve endings is highly sensitive and the vibrations created in this area due to the oil pouring enhances blood circulation to the brain by clearing all the channels. The entire procedure directs the nervous system to calm down leading to a state of deep relaxation to mind and the body.
One of the most effective Ayurvedic therapies, Vasti cleanses the intestines completely as the procedure involves administering medication to promote excretion. A medical decoction is made with various substances which is decided with the Vaidya as per the need and pain point of the patient. Decoctions are made of ghee, honey, oil, rock salt and medicated herbs. Per the nature of substances and the style of administration used, Vasti has been given various names.

Kativasti treatment involves retaining medicated herbal oil in a pool made on the lower back / waist area using a whole wheat or black gram dough as a compound. Like in most of our therapies, the nature of oil and dough will be customized as per the individual body type and need of the patient.
A deep tissue massage and high on pressure, Udwarthanam is performed with upward strokes using warm herbal powders. The powders are rubbed rigorously on the patient‘s body. This procedure is performed in seven postures by two trained therapists. Deep rest is advised for 30 minutes after the procedure and then followed with a warm water bath.

Thalapothichil involves application of a 1cm thick, medicated paste on the head. A cooling treatment, the patient is administered with a light massage before and after the treatment. This treatment is also known as Sirolepa.
This treatment involves preparing a bolus made with sand. The cloth and sand bolus is heated.
